The Tote Tutorial

The Tote Tutorial!

At long last! Here is the tote tutorial!

My kids have bags for church, ballet and the library. We keep each one loaded with the things they need, never unpack them and keep them in a basket in the hall closet. It’s great to grab them and go.

We did these bags for an Enrichment activity and they were a hit! Lots of the kids in the ward have them for their Sunday Scripture bag and next week I’ll be teaching the Laurels how to make them. They are SO fun and SO easy and you’ll be addicted in no time!!

When you first look at the instructions, you’ll be worried, but read through, follow step by step and I promise, you’ll be fine. The pattern used to be hand drawn and tricky looking, but it’s been beautified by Teri Christopherson who makes the most amazing quilts and patterns I’ve ever seen. Check out her site! Thanks again Teri!

People are saying they are unable to download the link, so I’m having DH fix it up at work. Leave a comment and I’ll email you when it’s up! Really, why can’t this be easy?

LINKY FIXED! Thankgoodness for my MIL and her scanner who saved me! To access the files, just click on each page. Each page is a SEPERATE Word Doc, so to get the entire pattern, you need to click both pages. Be sure to post pictures of your finished creations!

I don’t have a website. I love reading your blog and wish I knew how to start my own. But I’d love to have the directions for your tote bag. ADORABLE!

I hope you can get this to me even though I don’t have a blog website.

Okay I don’t know when but I so want to try this. I’m not a crafty girl but I enjoy stepping out of the box every once and while. I’m very nervous though but I’m going to follow step by step just as you suggested.

I’m so glad I found this post. I made a similar tote bag in high school home economics and darn if it wasn’t the handiest thing. The pattern got tossed in one of my cleaning purges though and I’ve been looking for a similar pattern ever since. Now all I need is the free time I had in high school and I’ll be able to make them :)
